Day Ten:

From: US41N at the border of Highland,IN
To: E71st St. and South Shore Drive, Chicago
Distance: 19 Miles

Topography: Wait a minute...yes, hey do you see it? I can see it I see it! Can you see it? Holy Shit! A Hill, an honest to God HILL!!!

Weather: Sweet sunshine for my last few hours with all of you amazing people
Keep walking and fighting for what resides inside your heart
I will be there every step of the way to Chicago in spirit
Bodh Rangzen!
-Geshe la

-Peter Gabriel said it best-

It was only an hour ago
It was all so different then
Nothing has really sunk in
Looks like it always did

This flesh and bone
Is just the way we are tied in
But therešs no one home
I grieve
For you
You leave
Me

So hard to move on
Still loving what's gone
Say life carries on
Carries on
And on
And on

The news that truly shocks
Is the empty, empty page
While the final rattle rocks
It's empty, empty cage
And I can't handle this
I GRIEVE
FOR YOU
YOU LEAVE
ME

Let it out and move on
Missing what's gone
Say life carries on
Say life carries on
and on
and on

Life carries on in the people I meet
In everyone that's out on the street
In all the dogs and cats
In the flies and rats
In the rot and the rust
In the ashes and the dust
Life carries on
And on
And on
And on
Life carries on
And on
And on

Life carries on
And on
And on
And on

Life carries on
And on
And on

Just the car we ride in
The home we reside in
The face that we hide in
The way we are tied in

As life carries on
And on
And on
And on

Life carries on
And on
And on

Did I dream this belief
Or did I believe this dream

Now I will find relief
I GRIEVE T

IBET WILL BE FREE!

Casualties: I guess I am the only casualty. Apparently my brother Chris and my sister to be Annie feel equally as strong that December 10th- the 15th Anniversary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's Nobel Peace Prize, and the United Nations declaration of Human Rights Referendum- needs to also be marked with their perfect marriage. As one of the BestMen I needed to make a hard call and opt for the wedding.

Enjoy Chicago tomorrow and get up in that megaphone for me and pop a blood vessel like I did in Toronto last April. I am damn proud of you all!

Rating: Beautiful day for anything at all but nothing beats Marching for Tibet in the sunshine after a week of crappy weather.

Host Families:
Thurs Dec 9th: Dolma and Kalsang (Tsewangšs Cousin)
Chicago Breakfast: Cha and Pani (on the walk)
Lunch: Burger King; Burnham, IL

Leg 11: THE FINAL PUSH
12 Miles through Downtown Chicago en route to Chinašs Consulate
To make some noise for Tenzin Delek Rinpoche

Quote of Day: "Why did you take the clothes out of the dryer, they're still wet?"
"I didn't tell you to wash them."
