Latest Update: Interview with Hunger Striker, Karma Sichoe.

Larry Gerstein (Pres., ITIM) and Katie Murphy (VP, ITIM) arrived in India on May 26, 1998 with the goal of interviewing as many Tibetans as possible concerning the most recent events affecting the Tibetan community. ITIM believes strongly that non-Tibetan supporters must maintain a continuous dialogue with the Tibetan community ,to fully understand what the Tibetans want, and therefore, how we can be the most effective in helping them achieve their goals.

Our plan is to talk to Tibetan journalists, members of the Tibetan Government In-Exile, Tibetan NGO leaders, former Hunger Strikers, Tibetan religious leaders, and ex-political prisoners about their views concerning. for example, the Hunger Strike Unto Death, the Self-Immolation of Thupten Ngodup, non-violent vs. violent methods to resolve the Tibet situation, nuclear testing, and The Panchen Lama.
