Despite snow, wind and cold temperatures the walkers are still walking. As of March 16, 44 miles have been covered.
Kunchok Wangmo Dorje, a Tibetan from Ontario who is walking the for the entire march, is one of 20 walkers who braved the icy weather on Saturday afternoon.
Many of the walkers, in order to tolerate the winter conditions, kept in mind the Tibetan refugees who risk losing limbs to frostbite, hypothermia and death when making their escape across the Himalayas. Today is a 'walk in the park' compared to this.
After the long cold day the walkers were guests of honor at a pot luck supper hosted by approximately 100 members of the Tibetan community of Ontario and other Western supporters. Thubten Jigme Norbu, the march's leader, spoke to all in attendance, thanking them for their hard work, kindness and support.
All the walkers where honored with numerous katas, white silk offering scarves.
And then the real fun began with traditional music and dancing.
