WALKING SCHEDULE AND ROUTE:

Route: New York City to Philadelphia

Day 1- June 27 - China's Consulate (Manhattan) to Rosebank, Staten Island - 7 miles
Demonstration in front of Consulate (520 12th Ave) at 9am. It is less than 1000 feet north of where I-495 leaves western border of Manhattan into Lincoln Tunnel. After demonstration, walkers proceed south on 12th Ave, past Holland Tunnel Entrance to Battery Park, and then on to South St, where they will board the Staten Island Ferry. Walkers debark the Ferry and proceed to Bay St. At Bay St, T/L (S) and go south on Bay St to Hylan Blvd, near the suburb of Rosebank, Staten Island.

Day 2 - June 28 - Rosebank (Staten Island) to east of the Outerbridge Crossing - 14 miles
From the intersection of Bay Street and Hylan Blvd, go southwest on Hylan Blvd, under the I-278 underpass, where Hylan Blvd becomes Hylan Blvd N, then Steuben Street. Continue to proceed south on Steuben St to its junction with Hylan Blvd. T/R (W) go west and then south on Hylan Blvd, passing Great Kills Park, passing Blue Heron Park, passing Wolfe's Pond Park to the junction of Hylan Blvd and Page Ave. T/R (N) and go north on Page Ave to immediately south of Hwy 440/Outerbridge Crossing.

Day 3 - June 29 - Washington Park (Hopelawn, NJ) to Feaster Park (New Brunswick, NJ) - 10 miles PORTAGE- Go west on Outerbridge Crossing on 440, take Amboy Ave exit, T/L at Amboy. Go south to New Brunswick Ave. Turn hard right (>90deg) onto 616/New Brunswick & follow west to junction of Lee Street & 616/New Brunswick Ave, on eastern edge of Washington Park. PORTAGE ENDS. Walkers assemble in Washington Park. Proceed west on 616/New Brunswick Ave past town of Fords, where 616/New Brunswick Ave becomes 501/Amboy Ave after crossing King George Rd. Walkers continue west on 501/Amboy Ave past town of Valentine, under I-95 overpass, across Hwy 1, past Eggert Ave, past Main Street to the junction of 501/Amboy Ave and Hwy 27. T/L (S) and proceed south on Hwy 27/Essex Ave, under I-287 overpass, past Vineyard Rd, along 27/Lincoln Hwy. Go west through town of Highland Park. From town of Highland Park follow 27/Lincoln Hwy across the Raritan River into New Brunswick, to the intersection of 27 and 672/Georges Street. T/L (S) and go south on 672/Georges Street to 171/Commercial Ave. T/R and go south on 171/Georges Rd to Feaster Park.

Day 4 - June 30 - Feaster Park (New Brunswick) to Cranbury, NJ - 13 miles
From Feaster Park, go south on 171/Georges Road past Brunswick Shopping Center, across Hwy 1, where Georges Rd becomes Hwy 130/Georges Road. After crossing Hwy 1, take Hwy 130/Georges Road south through the town of Red Lion, past the town of Black Horse, past the city of Dayton, through the city of South Brunswick, then go south on Hwy 130 to the intersection of Hwy 130 and Dey Rd, which is north of the town of Cranbury.

Day 5 - July 1 - Cranbury to Bordentown, NJ - 16 miles
From north of Cranbury, follow Hwy 130 across Stockton St, past the town of Windsor, past the town of Robbinsville, across I-195, past the city of Yardville, to the intersection of Hwy 130 and Crosswicks Road, east of the town of Bordentown, NJ.

Day 6 - July 2 - Bordentown, NJ to Bridgeboro, NJ - 14 miles
From the intersection of Crosswicks Rd & Hwy 130, take Hwy 130 south, past town of Kinkora, past town of Stevens, past town of Burlington, to the intersection of Hwy 130 and Creek Rd, west of the town of Bridgeboro.

Day 7 - July 3 - Bridgeboro, NJ to Hunting Park, Philadelphia, PA - 12 miles
From intersection of Hwy 130 and Creek Rd, take Hwy 130 south, past town of Cinnaminson, to the intersection of Hwy 130 and Hwy 73. T/R (N) and go north on Hwy 73 to the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge. Bridge is walkable. On the Philadelphia side of the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge, walkers will reassemble at the intersection of Levick St and Torresdale Ave. Walkers will proceed southwest on Torresdale Ave across Robbins St, across Aramingo Ave to the intersection of Torresdale Ave and Frankford Ave. Continue one block west on Torresdale to its junction with Hunting Park Ave. Veer right onto Hunting Park Ave. and follow it to where it veers to the left. Stay on Hunting Park Ave and proceed west to 900 West Hunting Park Ave near the eastern entrance to Hunting Park.

Day 8 - July 4 - Hunting Park to Independence Hall (Philadelphia) - 5 miles
From the eastern entrance of Hunting Park, go east approx. 4 blocks on West Hunting Park Ave to its intersection with 5th Street, T/R and walk south on 5th Street to the intersection of 5th St and Chestnut St., T/R (W) onto Chestnut St, Independence Hall is on the south side of Chestnut Street. Demonstration at Independence Hall from 1 to 3pm.
