The Calm After the Storm

Day two of the walk began much the same way day one endedrattling the Chinese Consulate windows with screaming slogans and the wonderful sounds of prayer and the Tibetan National Anthem. The days walkers consisted of 34 people.

Most of the day consisted of quiet and contemplative walking. I believe everyone¹s voices were a bit tired from the day before. None-the-less, slogans were broken out at appropriate times and places, such as when we were walking by local shopping areas and colleges.

An impromptu picnic lunch was taken in a wooded grove on the grounds of San Francisco City College. It should be mentioned that an incredibly well organized San Francisco Police Department escort led us through town. Thank you SFPD.

The evening was spent in the beautiful home of Phuntsok and Sonam in Berkeley, where we were once again treated to incredible Tibetan food. Dhonyo Tenzin, Tibetan Association of Northern California President, joined us and offered khatas, gratitude and blessings for success on behalf of his organization on our last evening in the Bay Area. Dhondup from the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress did the same for his.

East Bay, we will miss you dearly.
