next report or previous report April 27, 2000 Unfortunately we were only able to stay for one night with Gary in Pacifica. But, that night was a whole lot of fun. Walk Coordinator, Julie Crow, met Gary via the internet and our website. He kindly offered us housing and other support while we were walking. Thanks again Gary. Gary has a beautiful home on the side of a mountain, with an ocean view off in the distancequite the fitting setting for our first night together in one place as a group. Gary's downstairs neighbor, Mark, was extremely kind and generous by hosting us for dinner that evening. The faire consisted of barbecue ribs, chicken and steak. Meat, meat and more meat, welcomed with open arms and mouths by allwell, all except for the couple of vegetarians in the group. There was plenty of food for them too, though.
We had a great evening of relaxing by the backyard fire, enjoying good food and conversation with Gary, Mark and his two brothers who had also come over for the evening's events.
We went to Gary's after our program at San Francisco State University (click here to link to that report) on our first day off from walking. It was too bad that the very next morning we had to leave Garyıs and get back on the road in Daly City.
Walking has been a wonderful experience so far. The group is already functioning like a well oiled machine. And, we are still enjoying the company of local people who come and walk with us for a day. Again on Friday our numbers looked good. Friday evening it was off to Stanford University where we stay for the next four nights. |
